STEMxClub is the student-focused, in-school extension of the STEMxAfrica Project, established to ensure sustained engagement with students after each community or school activation. The clubs are launched within secondary schools to provide a structured and continuous platform for students to learn, practice, and collaborate around STEM concepts in real-time. Each club is powered by trained STEM facilitators and guided by a flexible but robust curriculum designed to inspire creativity and critical thinking.
Through weekly or bi-weekly meetings, club members are introduced to real-world problems and encouraged to explore solutions using scientific thinking, digital tools, and collaborative teamwork. Projects range from simple experiments and coding challenges to discussions around pressing topics such as climate change, health sciences, and food systems. Clubs also serve as hubs where students can prepare for STEM competitions, connect with mentors, and build lifelong skills in leadership and innovation.
By establishing STEMxClubs across Africa, the initiative is planting seeds of scientific excellence in thousands of young minds. It is not only creating future-ready students, but also building a youth-led network of thinkers who will power Africa’s innovation ecosystem in the years to come.
